Cebu's Notable Bloggers for June 2010

After Cebu Blog Camp 2010, I gained interest to know other bloggers in Cebu blogosphere. But I think it will take me more time to navigate all of the blogs in Cebu niche and leave comments on those blogs.  But without further ado, I have another list of those blogs with the bloggers.

Let’s focus on the bloggers because they are the instruments to the success of blogs.

Cebu’s Notable Bloggers:

Blogger of Cebu Daily, Takaw Pansin, Libotero and personal blog Sinjin’s House

I have seen this blogger on Cebu Blog Camp but have not managed to exchange glances with him. What makes this blogger remarkable though is not just on the styles of his blogs but also on the delivery. Another highlight from this blogger is the recently-concluded contest he made to the blogosphere and the prizes: CASH! Whohohh!!!

But no, I did not participate. It is not that I feel apathy to it, I am even amazed by the amount of his prizes. It is that I would like others to experience the win. I have also made observation on how he did the contest and the raffle procedure. The first time I joined a contest on the net was when a blogger friend Bert Padilla made a giveaway software to ten winners. Luckily, I was among them.

The blog Solo Flight Ed is remarkable. It features pics of sites that the blogger Edcel Suyo has managed to travel to. I like that kind of lifestyle hopefully when things go well with my venture.  But about the blog, it is informative and I would like to recognize it as the best Cebu travel blog, a Cebu-based blogger has crafted.

This guy has already gained an influential status in the Cebu blogosphere. His Focal Glass blog highlights his experiences as a photographer aiming for professionalism on this field. I think, he is a professional photographer on his own right and he can be a consultant to those who want to pursue photography for integration on blogs and websites.

I know this blogger from high school because one–she is a schoolmate– and two: she was under me in CAT. But fast forward to this year and we have a newbie blogger with noteworthy blog.

She is the blogger of Skim Chix–island life. It is a very nice blog with beautiful images and well-written posts.  I like her blog a lot– another best travel blog from Cebu to watch out.

When it comes to a blog in Visayan language, no one beats this blogger. His Dayong Laya is an exemplification of how a Visayan language can be preserved. He has also made posts in English though.

Clarence has managed  to deliver witty posts that you can’t help but chuckle and at the same time feel at awe and be proud for using the dialect of the Visayan in a blog.

This is a blogger with angst but he is an interesting one. He blogs at Obnoxious Queer that at one look at its title, you can say that he owns a gay blog. But it is beyond a gay blog that parodies on entertainment shenanigans and features a plethora of gay-related issues. This one is unique and a definitely one-of-a-kind Cebu blog of an out gay blogger.

A blogger who is instrumental in the creation of sites for Cebu Blog Camp. He blogs at Matud Nila and is among the blogs I have first recognized in the Cebu blogosphere. His blog is also about travel and events.

This is a fashionista blogger with a lifestyle blog about Cebu fashion and events. Her blog targets the middle to upper class of Cebu and she is very active in promoting events on her blog.

What makes her stand out is her being fashionista and she really has that blog that will really put Cebu fashion to another level.

His blog has a daily dose of updates…almost. He is also gaining influence to the blogosphere but with his status in the Cebu  Blogger’s society, being an influential blogger is not remotely possible for him.

This a professional Cebu blogger who has made another milestone on his blogging career as the receiving end of the recent interview conducted by a California-based blogger, Dave Doolin.

He has mentioned of a transition on his blog to make it look professional but what he does is already a display of professionalism.

A blogger/Internet marketer and entrepreneur at a very young age. He is quite inspiring. He has a blog that has a great potential to succeed. Viral Marketing is one of the strategies that he can use and, I think, he has already used it to gain attention in the blogosphere. He has posts that can provoke attention and can sometimes bend an ego.

This blogger aims to entertain. His blog can be deemed as an extended portfolio of his singing prowess and his love of music. He really sings very well as attested on his vlog. I also heard his voice at Cebu Blog Camp.

He also aims to be among the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogger. I like to participate on this contest but perhaps my other blog is qualified than Bjorn Cebuano.

But anyway, he has already made big steps to be recognized in the blogging scene. And I think, it may be a few more steps for him to be recognized in the cut-throat competition in the entertainment business.

This is just a few list of new entries to the notable Cebu Bloggers. I hope these bloggers will sustain their blogs as they have something to showcase to put more value not only to the niches their blogs are in but also to the whole Cebu blogosphere as well.

This is to note though that this is not intended to rank them according to their importance on the list. Sometimes, I make random thoughts and entries without taking particularities to relevance and value. But when I regard them as valuable I put them on the list.

Bloggers to watch out:

1. Noelle Villareal Dotillos

She blogs at Her Name is Noelle

2. Milafel Hope Dacanay

She has a very well-written blog but I don’t know why she decided to stop writing on it.

Still Noteworthy Bloggers:

  1. Cathy Laine Ragaas
  2. Agnes Jimenez
  3. Jerry Gervacio
  4. Mark Alessandrew Abitona
  5. Mark Monta
  6. Wilhelmina Sarawi
  7. Reuel de Egurrola
  8. Andrew Buenaviaje
  9. Kevin Ray chua
  10. Edcel Ceniza
  11. Guada Concepcion Esmena

Hi Bjorn! thanks for these, this is also a notable effort.

    Got some little inputs. :)

I am not the one behind the Cebu Blog Camp site but I’m one of the Organizers focused on CBC designs that appears on the website and during the event with Prince (www.royalgrapiks.blogspot.com).

  5. Just stumbled upon your blog while surfing around. Interesting name you have. It’s like my father’s family name and my middle name now since i got married. We spelled it like this: Bjørnsen, but it’s still the same. It means son of the bear.
