From Road Accident in Cebu to National Headlines

The Trans-Central Highway has treacherous roads. Accident on the steep road is highly likely but this time– it occurred.

A tour bus lost its break prompting the driver, who happened to be the owner of the tour bus business, to maneuver the bus erratically, resulting to a fall in the ravine. The tragic road accident in Balamban, Cebu claimed the lives of 21 victims including the driver. But the dead are mostly Iranian tourists. 66 were in the bus. Most of the survivors were injured and brought to the hospital.

My parents often advised me not to take the Balamban transcentral road when going to Toledo City or Balamban. True, passing through the Transcentral Highway is the shortest route heading to the western portion of the island. But you have to pass steep road that is conspicuously risky to drive on. The road is situated on high altitude so it is possible that deep fog can be a barrier to the trek, reducing road visibility–making it riskier to venture on the highway during cooler days and hours.

Now, an accident happened that has made it through the national headline. This is the news that highlights Cebu but it brings gloom than glee.

I would like to take this chance to extend my condolences to those whose victims of the road accident are their relatives, friends and loved ones.

I plan to travel to Balamban this month to experience the zipline but I still have to think about with my clique which road is more feasible to venture through leading to the Adventure Cafe.
