Interview with the Influentials in Cebu

I have been toying with the idea of conducting interviews with different bloggers here in Cebu and the popular ones in the Philippine blogosphere as well. It has thrilled me then of the possibility to screen individuals who have made marks in the Internet marketing and blogging scenes.

Being a Cebuano, I’d like to meet and greet and squeeze a bit of juice (or a liter of it)  the influential bloggers and persons in the Cebu landscape… initially. I will do the one-on-one interaction not only with the bloggers but also those who are in the media– old and new. If I am brazen enough, I’d like to interview the interesting persons who have carved the nice landscapes of Cebu– from businessmen, entrepreneurs to fashion designers, event organizers and even politicians. Of course, with improved self-confidence, having a heart-to-heart talk with the elite and the influentials is remotely impossible.

There is a thing about ‘interview’ that makes it interesting and even read-worthy ( and traffic-magnet, or so I hope) on a blog.

Interviews don’t just happen on TV. They can also be done on radios. In the new media, interviews can be made through:

1. Podcasting

2. Video interview that may be seen on Youtube and other streaming software versions and then featured on a blog or blogs.

3. Linking of  the form with the Interview questions. (Google Docs makes this possible)

4. Through Skype or the equivalent software that can do live interview remotely as long there is a camera, mic  and of course, a laptop or PC.

The first and second could be regarded as the best means to conduct an interview to be featured on blogs and sites. The third one would be considered the convenient way as this can be done through email or even through linking on social media sites such as Facebook.

The fourth one, on the other hand, is utilized to promote  impromptu interview with recordings and saved files on the chat.

For the interviewee, being interviewed because of being considered a force to be reckoned with can be seen as another milestone of recognition, notching forward to  a more influential level of status.

And probably, those who’d like to belong in the influential circle may even want to connect with the interviewer after reading or knowing that one of his peers or in the circle in which in he or she seems to belong has been featured on a blog in Q&A fashion.

Check this blog more often as interviews with the movers and shakers of the Cebu blogosphere will be featured here. And I gladly say that I am honored to have interviewed a few of them given the erratic schedules they have–balancing work, freelance,  blogging, social media interaction, contributing for a cause, entrepreneurial venture and… play.
