I have not updated this blog for over seven days. I was on the verge of halting my writing career had it not for my clients who believed in my capabilities. Actually, it was not a spur of the moment decision. There was a reason behind it– my technological incapacity.
Yes, I experienced breakdown– a bit emotionally– but more on the gears I’ve been using to do my work, my jobs, my business online. There is this constraint that requires immediate attention, contingency plan or back-up, a reinforcement so not to cause so much barrier to the goals I set for my career online.
It does not mean though that my passion for blogging wanes. The flare is still there and is continually in ignition mode to a more successive acceleration. However, hurdles come by easily as if to break the spell, the factor that charms my way to success.
Success and Freelance
And yes, I already smell success–I mean almost– but again, there are impediments. I actually wanted to post my interview with a blogger who has been a friend to me and who has made an impact with his witty and thought-provoking commentary in Cebu blogosphere. But it is not about what he is as a blogger that I delve the screening. It is more on his being a freelancer.
Yes, he is just like me. I am a freelancer and I’ve been doing it since becoming a home-based writer for an Internet marketing firm that I worked with before back in 2007.
In 2008, I opted home-based because of the transfer in location. Right now, I still have contact with my colleagues there but I now make it on my own, finding clients and being found by potential employers.
So, to break the ice, I want this blog to continue until the day which I could not write anymore. However, that may be nil as I intend to study creative writing aside from journalism. But, I will not give up the dream to become an MBA.
Now, things are doing okay in my end albeit some distractions on my work. I find the time to update this blog and my other Bjorn Bernales.
For another thing, the good side on my temporary halting is that I have evaluated the performance of my blogs and my skills. I would still say that my blogs are still in the infancy stage of professionalism despite the first date of my first blog post which occurred almost 4 years ago.
However, I want a better perspective for this blog and my other blog. I am even planning to create another two blogs once my Internet marketing company is set-up in style. I mean the company is not really a brick-and-mortar kind. It is more of a garage-type similar to some Internet companies during their start-up phase before the venture capitalists take the interest on their potentials business-wise.
In my case, however, I am seeking for angels. Yeah, angel investors. But I am still doing the bootstrapping– taking the profits from my freelancing earnings and using them to capitalize on my proposed business.
I even plan to enroll a short course on PHP programming, more on WordPress. Lately, I take an interest on studying Ruby on Rails. So, aside from creative writing, journalism and MBA, I also like to become a programmer. Neat, heh? Kinda, but I find that doing these stuffs and achieving them make my life less boring.
Plan Gone Awry
Last month, I plan on things which have not been realized on this blog. I intended to have a Blogger of the Week kind of gimmick, more like an Entrecard. However, I stop that plan for I need to know the impact it might bring. It might insinuate something or probably provide a backlash. And so, instead of doing that, I propose to make blog posts more informative, more valuable.
With my recent liking to Copyblogger, I have gained some insights from the blog helping me in having a clear-cut description of my business plan to go on with this blogging and writing career. It has also helped me realize that blogging is more about writing, and not just writing about senseless matters. It is more about writing to impart, to extend learning and to provide value.
The Tip of the Bottom
So, okay… I have already inscribed my plan for this blog as I start with the second semester of this year, 2010. And with that, I want to launch another thing that might help me in the long run. Of course, I want to build a readership base and an email list.
I now believe that blogging and creating a career online is not that easy. It takes time and, not just sometimes but oftentimes, TIME is the adversary.

Genial brief and this post helped me alot in my college assignement. Gratefulness you as your information.
