Cebu Bloggers Meet the Yahoo's

Meeting at T.G.I Friday’s at Ayala Center Cebu was unexpected. Getting to know the big men of Yahoo! Philippines was something that did not transpire in my mind that night. I think it was an eventful evening, acquainting with Yahoo! Philippines country manager and its chief editor, nevertheless.

It was still hours before this post got published that the meeting occurred and it was still fresh in my cerebellum how the bloggers welcomed them or I would say the reverse– how they pleased us with their congenial personality and generosity to make the acquaintance enjoyable for all, especially to us bloggers.

It was an opportunity, I believe, to meet with the Yahoo’s–as they are fondly called it to recognize their belongingness to one of the big names in the Digital world–and to learn tidbits on Yahoo! Philippines’ position in the Philippines local search engine industry.

Excited to meet them?

I would say, yeah!

But meeting the manager was another thing. I was even more glad to meet the country manager and to be able to shake hands with him and exchanged business cards.

I think working in Yahoo! would be a great experience. Just looking at the guys who have the big responsibilities in sustaining the name of Yahoo! in the Philippines makes me jealous. They may be stressed but they don’t show it. Working in Yahoo! may be like working in a playground. You get to do what you love and even get paid for it.

But it should be noted that what I’ve written is purely hypothetical. I did not ask them about their working experiences in Yahoo! Philippines and how they like it there. However, just knowing that they can still do the things that they love and can get the time for work makes me wonder about how I can do the same with my business.

What’s my business by the way?

It’s blogging and managing and conceptualizing and marketing and organizing and wooing. I would say it’s multi-tasking. Good thing I’m still young or I would complain much about how too much work brought aches into my body.

But back to the meeting with the Yahoo’s…

Well, I was glad to meet them. Did I already say that?

Yeah, I did.

Okay…

But the thing here is that the meeting would be regarded as a stepping stone leading to possible partnerships I guess or opportunities or things that might occur between Cebu Bloggers and Yahoo!. I am hoping for it honestly. I don’t know how it will transpire in the near future though.

I am just hoping for the best for both parties. And the good thing here is that I am involved with one of the parties. Yeah!
