Great talents abound in Cebu. They come from different positions and different fields. There are those who have been lucky in the blogosphere while others in the usual professions that have been in the world for centuries. Perhaps, being a blogger is still a new profession and to some it is not yet considered as one, particularly here in Cebu.
Now, I’m not talking of blogging here. I want to relay an important message about the existence of Dj’s in our radio.
Yes, they have the best voices in town– the DJ’s. And for many avid radio listeners, hearing the DJ’s voices make you tingle. No, not the usual and provocative implication, although I know some may have experienced that one, but I’m not getting there. It’s just that, hearing a DJ’s voice already brings music to the ears.
DJ is a radio’s great talent. It is not just the artist, if I reckon. And yes, many have admired them, because–aside from their voice– it is their ability to relay info and other tidbits over the radio frequency.
So much for the introduction about DJ. Let us get to the part on the DJ who has spent time to answer some questions for me.
Y101 Cebu has the best DJ’s in Cebu radio media. I’ve been a fan of that station since high school. But I get that fanatic feeling from my father who has been listening to the station since his high school years. Imagine that, my family has been listening to that station for almost thirsty years now.
Y101 has been on air for more than three decades now. And I’m pleased to know that one of the DJ’s in their booths is someone I know personally.
Chassy Cortes, or better known as DJ Chassy of Y101, is like a family. Her mother is my godmother. I’ve been hearing praises about Chassy since childhood from her. It is nice to know a mother relaying good things about their sons and daughters. And I bet Chassy is very blessed to have a mother like that.
So, I’ve gone to Y101 booth at the 2nd Floor of Gaisano Country Mall to take a series of pictures for and with DJ Chassy.

earth colors and well .. black and white and pink. as for stuffs, PILLOWS and anything fluffy

How do you describe your relationship with your family in two sentences?
My family is home. My family is home.
Before becoming a DJ, what is your first job?
Special Events Host. I know it’s a profession but I don’t know if it’s a real job.
What compels you to go DJing?
Music and the passion to talk (talk active, not talkative)
Is being in media your ultimate career in life? Care to explain why.
Definitely. Media is my second home. It is where I can be whoever I want to be. I just feel free and it’s liberating.
How is life being a DJ and VJ at the same time?
A dream come true. Do I need to elaborate? Time to take it to the higher level.
How do you see yourself in three years?
Single. Travelling. Still in the entertainment industry. Definitely!
