Bjorn Cebuano joined again another Fun Run this year with CEDf-IT Fun Run 2011. He is with a bunch of CITE Runners Club who are avid runners and sportsmen.
The Fun Run was mostly attended by “callboys” and “callgirls” and yuppies in the IT sector of Cebu. However, the running event was also open to any participant– from kids to not-so seniors and to foreigners– so it was not restrictedly an event for Cebuanos.
The author went to the site at AsiaTown IT Park an hour before the race. Yoga stretching and warm up exercises warmed up the event with running enthusiasts enjoying the experience, stretching the whole body at the crack of dawn. Although I missed to take awesome pictures about the fireworks, but yes, there was fireworks 20 miuntes before the racde. It was kinda like the more enoyable opening event before the crowd of runners thronged at the starting line.
At 5.30, the gunshoot was heard,
signaling the start of the race… and the start of more aches, later.
Bjorn Cebuano managed to run the 8K but because of insufficient amount of sleep, I alternated the strenuous race with running, jogging and walking.
I was not able to take pictures of the race winners. But for me, it didn’t matter because the runners there was participating for fun… although there were serious runners.
