I was privileged to shake hands and to rub shoulders with Maria Ressa, the very well-known international journalist and now the Chief Editor of Rappler.com, undoubtedly the most popular social media blog site in the Philippines, recently.
It was during the conclusion of Hack2Hatch: From Hacker to Founder startup competition that I got the chance to meet her for the first time, personally.
My friend Ruben Licera, Jr., the president of Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. made the first shot with the popular journalist during the first day of Hack2Hatch in Radisson Blu Hotel. I failed to attend the event because of a prior scheduled meeting with Effective Measure representative in Cebu, who also happened to be a former employee of ABS-CBN. That was a wow! weekend for me.
I envied his pride shot with Maria Ressa. Fortunately, I was able to catch up Maria Ressa in the Mactan Ballroom of Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort after the event’s conclusion and lunch time.
Though the image shot is not that good(sorry Cathe!) because of the absence of flash when this was taken, just standing beside a very famous journalist and a bit of a chitchat with her ( she was very in-demand at that event) would be enough for me.
